Hello world...
I have been noticing more and more that I am a slave to technology. I know you're thinking but Mr. Delivery Boy this is a DELIVERY blog not some weird techno mumbo jumbo blog. You are correct sir, but just as with everything else in life I can apply technology to it in some way or fashion. I have to say I love my iPhone and I love mac products. I just think they are better in the sense that mac puts out a finished product. They don't really allow to much tweeking of the computer but have it programed to run super efficiently on its own. Now with windows products and pcs they are awesome for gaming and the like because you can tweek the hell out of them and get them running the way you want for the one thing your tweeking for at that moment. I am not saying PC is better or Mac is better. They both have their ups and downs... to me and the things I use my tech for I simply prefer Mac.
Now back to my phone... Smart phone have progressed so much since when the cell first became popular and widely used. I know some day my grand kids are going to come up to me and say "Grandpa you remember when cellphones couldn't surf the internet?!" and I'll reply, "I remember before everyone had a cell phone... I remember when everyone didn't have the internet and if they did it made funny noises and tied up the phone line!" Now my grand kids will probably go on about how I am just a stupid old man and phones never had wires constantly attached. Now with this new tech, I must say it ceases to amaze me. Where ever I go... I have maps, phone, music, HD video player/recorder, all in one tiny device that fits in my damn pocket... and I wear tight pants!
Now on the the Deliver portion. I use my phone and iPod a lot in my car. I have an FM transmitter in my car so I can listen to both and charge both since I do not have an aux input in my car as of yet. Now for the delivery I noticed yesterday that I made a lot more than the other drivers that were there. I had less hours and more run/tips... how does this work out? (I also haven't drove in Lawton more than a month) I attribute a lot of it as I actually know how to bust my ass while I am at work and know how to treat a customer. But at the same time I have one up on all of them... None of them use a phone, and only two other people I know of use GPS. The rest use an in map store and get lost. At least that's what they tell me and the managers. Now I still get lost and GPS isn't a fail safe, but why did I get way more tips and way more deliveries in? I dunno only that tootsie pops owl will know. ... greed owl bastard...
Now also what brought up the topic of tech... is because I noticed I have trouble with out it... well not trouble it just seems like an unnecessary inconvenience compared to having the tech and using it well. (I also notice drivers with kick ass smart phones that rival mine but they never use them correctly maybe its just ignorance...)
One thing I DO know is that the one guy that sat in his car talking on his phone, on the clock, still on a run making $2.50 less than he would clocking in and sitting there... is not a good move... especially since I made three runs in that time... dummy... thanks for the money...
Now kids use your tech right and it will be kind to you and so will I if not...
Shut up and give me my damn tip...

Cold dead hands...
Ok readers...
I bet a lot of you think I am a selfish half assing piece of shit delivery driver. I can assure you I am not. I am very polite and fast when I drive... unless I get lost... I just vent here that's all. Plus if I can make you laugh and realize the comedy in everyday life, I think this blog has succeeded. I mean isn't that what life is suppose to be, not a joke but fun. If not I should just put a damn bullet in my brain, because if I can't laugh at life its just to damn depressing to live.
Today was nice, I got good tips except one person... and it was still 69 cents I got from the guy so still he tipped and I am grateful that he didn't stiff me. I had a lot of fun because I probably spent 30 minutes of my time in store and the rest out in my car listening to a play list that has all my punk and ska music on it 1661 songs 2.7 days of music... now this play list doesn't get old almost every song I like... and not just a like enough to tolerate... like LOVE... 1661 of my favorite songs... It also was a nice change up from all the pop remixes I have been listening to and hip hop... I do like those genres but I can't get enough... I'll love punk music until I die...
Now the story of the day. I am not from Oklahoma and if you aren't either... it only got down to like 45-50 degrees tonight and people are wearing parkas. Its the middle of December and I am just wearing my uniform a polo style shirt and khaki dickies pants. I wasn't cold on any of my runs, and it was only slightly uncomfortable when I was outside, but I still didnt mind it enough to put on my jacket I had in the car. Now I am running out to my car as I explained some lady in her mid forties to fifties come walking by. Being a nice guy on clock like I explained, I decided to brown nose a little and just be a nice god damn human. I said "G'Evening Ma'am! How are you tonight?" because she was walking to the store and it was nice to see her smile. She goes through the normal small talk affair then looks up and really looks at me as I pass. She whips around putting her hood up and crossing her arm and says "Aren't you cold?! It's FREEEEZING out her." I laughed and just said walking backwards to my car "I'm from up north." She said cordially, "That's no excuse it's still cold." I laughed harder almost literally doubling over but I thought letting a laugh out that extreme would offend her. So I got in my car driving away. I don't know why it tickled me so much... but I am just happy to live somewhere that in the winter I can get away with a beanie and a hoodie and be warm as all get out maybe have to roll up my sleeves... then I thought... "Damn, mid-Summer is going to suck..."
and I like summer...Now give me my damn tip...

Rich People and late posts!
Hellloooooo readers!
I am sorry about the late post but there will be more. Here was a recap of last night, three hours of work. I got a larger pay check this week. I was hoping for more hours but I guess this is good enough to pay my bills now that I am driving. I do enjoy this job though I just wish I could get more hours but that will come.
Anywho... What I wanted to talk about I only delivered to about 5 houses last night which is common considering the fact that all the drivers I met were there for Friday night. I was in store about an hour tops for the whole night. Now I wasn't spoiled today by a church or anything... but I was also told by another driver that I delivered to mostly the "ghetto" of our area... which one or two houses weren't in the best neighborhoods but it wasn't like they were places I wouldn't go to at night. I was getting steady tips of about three to five dollars for the first three ghetto deliveries. Then I drive out to a richer neighborhood and this teenage girl must have been having a sleep over but she tipped a five. I was pretty happy until on of my last deliveries of the night I go into one of the best/rich neighborhoods. Big beautiful house with Mansion style double doors in the front. I walk up and hand the women a receipt to sign... Now I keep my receipts in a envelope in my car where I checked the tip 1.00. WTF mate? Seriously you have all this money for this huge beautiful house. How come the ghetto people who look like they can barely afford the pizza tip five six bucks... my theory... they know how it is... I work my ass off and if I am fast and nice I get a good tip. I didn't mention that this 1.00 tip was added on at the phone call... oh well you have those I guess.
I also came home and relaxed a bit chatted on Facebook, then a friend came over to visit... We killed some trees then watched TV. It was nice... I don't know how well of a "friend" he is because I just moved here. I miss having steady group of friends that feel like brothers and sisters... but I guess I traded family for friends...At least I got the trees...

First Post!
Hello Readers!
Well if there are any out there as of yet... As you could have guessed I am a pizza delivery boy in a smaller city in Oklahoma. I actually love my job and wouldn't change a thing. I will go over my deliveries here mostly, but also things that happen to me on and off the clock. What I enjoy about being a delivery boy is I get to sit in my truck most of the time and listen to music and drive around the town. The people you meet and things you think of while delivering are just unique. I know there are plenty of blogs like this. I like to think of us "Delivery People" (Have to be PC!) as a type of sub-culture. Not like the punks or vegan activists, but like you have a certain respect for the people who are doing the same job as you and putting up with the same shit. I believe most of us enjoy this. Today is my day off so I thought it would be a good time to start my pizza blog.
Since I have seen this done and think it was kind of cool on a couple blogs, so I will do it too. Before I sign off I will always post my final tip amount. Since this is my first post and I want to get into the habit the tips for today are actually from last night when I closed. So now that we are all introduced... I will tell you about my night last night....
It's getting closer to Christmas, now don't call me a Scrooge or think that I am a bad person for saying this... I am not particularly found of Christmas. Cold weather isn't my favorite. Santa and the marketing kind of make me sick. I HATE Christmas carols. It does have its upsides though, if you know how to manipulate a little bit. Now, I don't feel bad about this but I will pretend to be Christian to get better tips or wish people a Merry Christmas. Hey not only is it good customer service, but it also helps me get more money. I know this isn't the most right/good thing you can do. Do I care no?
Which brings me to the point of the story. Around 8:30 p.m. I am working the make line since I am one of the only drivers who is good at it because they kept me there for a month waiting for my driving record. It was also the reason I was closing that night. My manager runs up to me and pulls me off the make line and says, "Hey, this church ordered some pizzas already paid and signed earlier and here's your tip." He points to the tip and it's sixteen bucks for 10 pizzas. So I load up the three insulated bags and head out. I think at this point I was jamming out to some remixes that I have been trying to work into my Virtual DJ set list. (If you cared) I ran the pizzas in and the group of people there were setting up Christmas decorations and the old lady I talked to was just so friggin sweet and nice. I hate to say it but it made me miss going to church with the family, even though I am not Christian. Hell I hate to say it but the Christmas spirit touched me.
After this I got the idea to start manipulate people. When you are nice I guess that is how you get better tips, but now I guess its not so wrong just smiling and bullshiting them for an extra one or two bucks... ahh I don't care fuck it right? (If it makes any of you feel better out there Karma did kick my ass later and I had two deliveries to the college and everyone knows... Cameron students don't tip)... Thank you sweet old Christian ladies, fuck you Cameron students...
Merry Christmas... Now give me my damn tip...
